How to learn a language in a month for free without books, digitally!

Learning any language fast – 15 minutes a day – with no books

Learning a new language for some persons may seem hard, complicated or even impossible.

For my point of view is quite easy, at least to learn the basics, in order to be able to communicate good enough to buy a piece of bread and understand if someone is telling you “I love you” or insulting you with a romatic tone.

The best technique I’ve developed in my trips is to start to talk from the very first day, with some hi-tech support of an android phone, just doing three things, daily. This is my minimalistic digital self-learning system:

1) Memrise & Duolingo one lesson a day – 10 minutes

Create an account from laptop on memrise.com and add the languages you wanna learn;

Install the memrise app on Android ;

Download the courses you wanna learn offline by going in the settings of the selected language on android.

In parallel with memrise you can use Duolingo for the pronunciation and a more structured learning pattern.

2) Audiopod – listen whenever you are on the go (walking, cycling, doing sports)

There are various audio-lessons made to learn with audio, one of the most complete is innovativelanguages.com;

podcast

With any podcast app—for Android or other phones, like Podcast Addict—you can download audio lessons just by searching podcasts with keywords: “learn name-of-the-language“.
Remember to set each audio lesson to repeat all the time, you need to listen to the same lesson at least ten times on different days to get it in your brain.

3) Speaking & chatting at any occasions – don’t be shy, try to speak all the time

You can use an Android app like Lingopal to have set phrases which allow you to have short conversation in different occasions in real life, plus you could chat online in that language.  In case is too difficult you could start for the first few minutes and after switch to English 🙂

just go ahead and communicate in local language!

How to live stream (broadcast) your camera from Android to youtube easily and without any additional software (just using hangouts)

UPDATE 2016:

Due to a change in youtube settings, this system works no longer.

Lucky someone made finally an app to stream:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tilda.youtube

Soon I will stream my bicycle trip, live on my youtube channel and I was looking on the web how to do it…

It looks like that at the moment the only app that can do it is BigVencoder, but is a bit tricky to let it work, that’s why I have found my own workaround to do it.

Here the instructions (you no need a laptop at all, just android and chrome browser):

1) Open Chrome browser on your  android and select the option “request desktop site”.

2) Go on Youtube.com (make sure you have the full version and you are logged in) and open “creator studio” (click on your logo up/right)

3) Create a live event:

4) On the last option (how to stream) keep the selection on hangouts (default) , a new hangout window will open and there you can start to broadcast yourself live!

5) You are just one click away from streaming to the world

Once finished you will get the recorded video in your youtube videos:

the next challenge is to do a dual camera streaming! (both camera at the same time) if you know how to do it, post it please!
